Earth’s Climate Earth’s climate zones range from Arid Desert to Wet Tropical. On land and in the Oceans, all support life.
Earth’s climate varies naturally at global, regional and local levels, and also as a result of human activity. Most scientists agree that Global Warming, chiefly due to pervasive burning of the carbon-based fossil fuels petroleum and coal, is a fact. Most agree there is a risk that Global Warming could reach a level having catastrophic consequences for human life and the plant and animal life on which human life depends.
Green Education Network believes the scientific evidence for Global Warming and the risk of catastrophic consequences are compelling.  Green Education Network believes the risk and consequences outweigh uncertainties and dictate immediate action. We urge all teachers, students and parents to use Keyword Search (recommended) or the Topics on GEN to learn about Earth’s Climate and Global Warming, and their relationship to Earth’s Life. We will do all we can to empower you to save Earth’s Climate, and also Earth’s Resources, because Earth’s Life depends on them and on our united action.  Â

Due to human activities such as the combustion of fossil fuels and deforestation, the concentration of atmospheric carbon dioxide has increased by about 35% since the beginning of the age of industrialization. Simply put, Mother Earth can’t keep up with the huge increase in carbon emmissions shown in the large chart above.
