Rob Williamson 1Bob Williamson, Honorary Advisor

Bob Williamson is an environmental activist for change. He is committed to adding his voice without compromise; and without fear or favour, to alert others to the need for an urgent change to the ‘business and living as usual’ model adopted by developed and fast developing nations, that is placing our future, and that of generations to follow, in peril.

GreenhouseneutralBobWilliamsWinner of an array of environmental; business and science awards, both in his home country of Australia and overseas, he is the Founder & Chair of the non-profit Greenhouse Neutral Foundation established in 2006 by his family to contribute a voice.

ZEROBob is the author of many published articles as well as a controversial book on Climate Change – finite resource depletion and resource conservation ‘ZERO Greenhouse Emissions – The Day the Lights Went Out – Our Future World’ published in October 2008 by Strategic Book Publishing New York, New York U.S.A. Click here for the book in ebook format ISBN 978-1-60693-306-0 e-book $9.99  Click here for print version in GEN’s Green eMall Bookstore.

bobwilliamsonspeakingOne reviewer said the book is ‘What they would rather you didn’t know about Climate Change’ and another said ‘Many with vested interests may wish you not to read this book’.

Bob suggests that his book confronts many of those with vested commercial and political interests to protect, and he offers no apology for it. “We need to wake up from the illogical sleepwalk of the present course we are on,” he explains,“Our collective futures and that of our children are in immediate peril.”

Forrest at microphoneMore About Forrest Stone   A graduate of Harvard University, where he was in a creative writing program limited to 5 students per year, and of the Yale School of Drama, and Keele University in England, where he took a Masters in Victorian Literature, Green Education Network Publisher Forrest Stone has been an Adjunct Faculty Member of Yale University since 1985. Our World Class educational media executive has held leadership positions at Scholastic, Weekly Reader, Lifetime Learning Systems, Sundance Publishers, Education World — long the nation’s leading website for teachers –and BlueNose Edutainment. He has written creative educational materials for all those organizations as well as Prufrock Press, Benchmark Education, ABC-Disney Radio and even Marvel Comics.

At Weekly Reader in 1996 he created a special audio edition of the print and website publication to report on the 1996 presidential election, after scoring the first exclusive face-to-face interviews with a major presidential candidate in the history of the educational publishing industry. He also created radio dramas portraying incidents in the candidates’ younger lives so that the youthful readers of Weekly Reader could have a better chance of relating to these political leaders. Indeed, all of Forrest’s career in educational media has been marked by a successful blending of educational purpose and entertainment-industry technique, whether in books, magazines, posters, games, audio, video, Internet, or software.

Forrest takes special pleasure serving Green Education Network. with the driving and driven support of Gregory Hilbert, with whom he has often fellow-traveled for decades. Both were Vice Presidents at Education World, and executives at Weekly Reader, where together they indulged their passion for making the world better for children.

Forrest brings more than experience, creativity, and intelligence to the Mission of Green Education Network.  He is expertly qualified in all forms of educational media, and uniquely so for his extensive experience translating complex and sometimes gravely serious matters into terms appropriate for the age of his audiences, often numbering in the millions, and making them memorably fun for students and teachers alike.

At Education World, for whom Greg was the lead architect of an agreement to build a new website portal for the National Education Association (NEA), Forrest was the lead developer who worked closely with the NEA to bring its content successfully to life. Forrest enjoys recounting his musing with Greg in 1992 about the future of digital media, and sharing predictions that have come to pass essentially as they predicted. They swore in 1998 they would one day collaborate to make a significant contribution toward a better world for ALL children, which they did via Greg’s September 12 Initiative in 2001.  They made another vow on January 1 of 2003, which the launch of Green Education Network in 2009 brings to fruition.

al_goreForrest says that both he and Greg were stunned by the clarity of Al Gore’s warning siren. Determined to act, Greg masterminded GEN’s mission, funded its development and serves as its Chairman and CEO. In his typically visionary and dramatic style, Greg emailed “Toffler’s Third Wave is about to meet the Tidal-plus-Tsunami Fourth Wave! I’ll give it all I’ve got if you’ll serve as publisher, our kid’s lives could be at stake!” Forrest’s reply to Greg’s call to duty was vintage Forrest Stone: “I agree about the big waves, Greg. Grab your chairman board and let’s get surfin’!!!”.

With his wife, British writer Annabelle Howard, Forrest is co-founder of Big Fun Productions, whose online games that prepare Connecticut elementary students for the Connecticut Mastery Tests can be seen at testprepfun.com. Forrest is also a creative writer whose produced stage plays include Look Inside & Smile, at HB Studio in New York City, Where the Monkey Put the Nuts, which has been produced in New York and Connecticut, An Offer She Couldn’t Refuse (musical) commissioned by the New York State Writers Institute and produced at SUNY-Albany, The Uncommon Cold (musical) presented in a reading/concert at the Rich Forum in Stamford CT, Complex, Signs, and Hooper and Son, all of which were produced at Yale or Harvard, as well as about 20 short plays staged in the Samuel French and American Globe festivals and at Theatre Studio Inc. in New York City, the Short & NEAT festivals in New Haven and in various productions by Stratford CT organizations. Forrest’s published fiction includes the stories “Basic Facts about the Human Heart” under the pseudonym Valenda Reale, “Get Your Hot Corn Here,” and “Bound South,” in small literary magazines in the USA and England. Forrest has had three screenplays commissioned and one, Home Fires Burning, was work-shopped at Robert Redford’s Sundance Feature Film Program. Forrest is a also-also a prolific songwriter who often performs at Café Nine in New Haven. Since 1985 he has taught  a summer screenwriting & playwriting class at Yale University. Forrest grew up in Fayetteville, North Carolina, and is a graduate of 71st High School. Forrest lives in Madison CT.
