Of the many worthy Non-profits, the following are those eligible to receive a GEN donation. This list will be finalized and updated on an ongoing basis.

acga-logo1If you would like your organization to remain on the list or to be added to the list, please note GEN’s intention to implement a policy prior to December 31, 2009 that to be a donation recipient the organization must permit GEN to display its logo or a representation of it on this page (at minimum) — as the Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation, Climate Challenge, Greenhouse Neutral Foundation and the American Community Gardening Association have — and if the organization has multiple links to other websites on its own website, there must be a link to GEN somewhere on its site as a matter of courtesy.  Other forms of acknowledgement and courtesy are accepted.

GEN will make donations no less than once per year and no later than December 31 of each calendar year to one or more of the non-profits on its donation-eligible list at that time. Through July 27 GEN has made cash donations to Greenhouse Neutral Foundation and the Eco Preservation Society. Documentation of prior-year cash donations (the first prior year will be 2009) will be available on request to greghilbert@greeneducationnetwork.com from January through March.  GEN may elect to make additional donations to any organization or school at any time in association with any of its many programs or activities.

nwf-jumboadioptpolarbearsGEN’s DONATION METER  We will at some point post on this website the total dollar value of our cumulative donations and donation obligations to all organizations. We will do this so that site visitors and users may appreciate that our contribution goes well beyond providing website content that is free to all. By donations we do not mean the cost of providing website content that is free to all, nor the value of donations made by our visitors to non-profits, or purchases from them as a result of our support or promotion of them on GEN. We mean cash, goods, services, membership fees and sponsorship fees we give to non-profit organizations and educational institutions, educators, and students, including those we provide to schools, teachers, students or others as contest or drawing prizes or participation awards or gifts in association with an educational program or activity for which no purchase is necessary.

As of May 1, 2009, if the DONATION METER were active, the DONATION METER TOTAL WOULD READ = $2,011.20
