Green Education Network is persuaded by the work of Dave Blume and the non-profit I.I.E.A. that ethanol produced by sustainable perma-culture has the potential to have a greater and more favorable environmental and economic impact than ANY alternative-energy technology at hand or on the immediate horizon.

Taxpayers pay billions in USPS junk mail subsidies to the same banks and other corporations that plunder us, billions to haul their unwanted junk away, and billions for the landfills where most of it gets dumped. The same greed-driven megabanks that taxpayers bailed out in 2009 pay only 19 cents to bombard Americans with low-interest CREDIT CARD offers that later sky-rocket to rates of 22% and higher, while citizens pay $0.44 to mail their payment to the same bank.
Green Education Network Chairman & CEO Gregory Hilbert announced today that GEN has joined a Care2 call for a 2010 MARCH ON WASHINGTON DC (and capitols in all 50 states), to demand restoration of government of, by and for the people.

Even as Congress belatedly tackles legislation that would cut U.S. carbon emissions and international negotiators have bickered over a global climate deal in Bonn, a new report by several federal agencies underscores the truths that too often risk getting lost in politics: global warming is real, it’s happening now and if we don’t act soon, [...]

Agriculture was the key development that led to the rise of civilization, with the husbandry of domesticated animals and plants (i.e. crops) creating food surpluses that enabled the development of more densely populated and stratified societies. At right: Rice farming. The study [...]
